Rules and Regulations
Article 1. Objectives and Name.
1.Taekwonmudo is a product of traditional Korean culture. The purpose of organising the Academy is to propagate and standardise Taekwondo along with its traditional martial spirit throughout the country.
2.The Academy shall be called the Irish Taekwonmudo Academy (ITMA) hereafter referred to as the ITMA.
3.The ITMA seeks to realise the ideals, “Swiftly, Powerfully, and accurately” through the medium of traditional competition and education.
4. The ITMA shall promote the principles of traditional Taekwondo, philosophy, education, development of technique and Dan certification.
Article 2. Operations.
 
1. To obtain the objects of article 1, the ITMA shall conduct the following operations.
 
  1. Irish Taekwonmudo Championships.
  2. Various International Championships.
  3. Irish JudginIrish Judging Seminar.
  4. Irish Coach Training Course (IMAC).
  5. Research for propagation and development of Taekwondo Techniques.
  6. Publication of necessary materials.
  7. Other operations necessary to attain the objects of article 1.
2. The operations shall be conducted as follows:-
 
  1. The National Championships shall be held every year under the auspices of the ITMA and be organised by the ITMA.
  2. Other championships, such as invitational and good will ones may be held by any Members provided that these championships are not named “Irish”, or National championships.
  3. The results of each championship shall be reported to the ITMA, within one Month of the conclusion of the championships.
  4. TThe ITMA competition rules shall be applied to all the championships listed above.
Article 3. Headquarters and official language. /td>The headquarters of the ITMA shall be located as directed by the President of the ITMA.
2. The official language of the ITMA shall be English.
3. A member shall not take membership of any other national Taekwondo Organisation that may contravene the principles, codes or ethics of the ITMA.
4. All the members shall be equal before the ITMA rules and regulations and shall be Free from any political, religious, racial or other forms of prejudices.
5. Any member may withdraw their membership from the ITMA.
Article 4. Finances.
1. Finances of the ITMA shall be appropriated by the following incomes;
 
  1. Operations income. ie. – Operations income. ie. – annual membership fees/competition/seminar fee contribution.
  2. Donations and fund raising/tr>
2. The fiscal year starts January 1st of each year.
Article 5. Officials.
1.The following officials shall be incepted at the ITMA.
 
  1. One President and term of office appointed by Master Kim Yong Ho.
  2. General Secretary and Co. GenerGeneral Secretary and Co. General Secretary
  3. Treasure/Treasurers. 
  4. A maximum of five Executive Council Members. (Can be members or Parents of members) lude responsibilities for Fundraising, PR, Fun Events.
2. The term of office of the officials B to D is one year.
Article 6. The President.
The duties of the President.
 
  1. The President shall lead and represent the ITMA
  2. The President shall concurrently lead the Executive Council as its Chairman.
Article 7. Co- General Secretaries
 
  1. The Secretary General shall plan, perform and manage the secretarial affairs regarding the organisation and operations of the ITMA and other general affairs.
  2. The Secretary General shall submit a report to the General Assembly on the activities of the secretariat.
Article 8. The Executive Council.
 
  1. The Executive Council can consist of the President and four additional members.
  2. Any Executive Council member who fails to attend two consecutive meetings without providing proper reason shall cease their position.
  3. The Executive Council shall decide upon;
    1. Planning and management of the ITMA organisation and operations.
    2. Financial budget and financial reports.
    3. Formulation, amendments and repeal of the rules and regulations and the rules and by-laws.
    4. Agenda of the General Assembly meeting.
    5. Matters referred to the Executive Council from the General Assembly meeting.
    6. Other matters under its responsibility laid down by the rules and regulations.
    7. The Executive Council may refer matters under its responsibility to the President.
The Executive Council meeting shall be summoned by the President before or after the General Assembly or Extraordinary General Assembly meeting. However, the President may convene an Executive Council meeting whenever it is deemed necessary.
In case matters occur that require urgent resolution of the Executive Council, the President may put them on the paper ballot without convening an Executive Council meeting.
Article 9. The Committees.
1. The Executive Council shall appoint the following committees to assist in its Work.
 
  1. Technical Committee. To review, research and analyse the requirements for further improvement of Taekwondo techniques.
  2. Public Information Committee. To conduct the activities related to the public Information of the ITMA.
  3. Financial Committee. To study the financial status of the ITMA and to research the sources of funding for the various operations of the ITMA
  4. Tournament Committee. To study the requirements for further improvements of the organisation and management of ITMA competitions.
  5. Judging Committee. To study the conditions for consistent application.
2 The details of the committees shall be enacted by the by-laws.
3. Each committee shall consist of one Chairman and less than four members designated by the President for a one-year term, unless the President extends this term.
4. The Executive Council or the President may entrust each committee with the execution of the matters under its or his/her responsibility.
Article 10. Amendment of the rules and regulations.
The amendment of the rules and regulations of the ITMA shall be proposed with the resolution of the Executive Council or by the approval of more than 1/3 of the total member associations. The proposed amendment shall be accomplished by a 2/3 majority vote.
Article 11. The Presidents Emergency Measures.
In case disputes occur over matters not specified in the rules and regulations, or matters that require urgent solution during the period between two Executive Council meetings, the President may take emergency measures subject to later submission to and approved by the next Executive Council meeting.
Article 12. The Secretariat.
 
  1. Necessary personnel may be employed at the Secretariat.
  2. The Secretariat personnel shall be appointed and dismissed by the President at the recommendation of the Secretary General. However, the President may entrust the Secretary General with that power.
Article 13. ITMA Instructors and Clubs
 
  1. ITMA require that there is one Head Instructor only per club, to ensure the involvement of that Instructor on on-going Association matters, additional black-belt persons in the club will be classed as Students, until such time the black-belt wishes to open up a new club and in doing so will receive full support from the Association.
  2. Instructors must submit an annual Insurance certificate for their club/clubs
  3. Instructors must submit a first-aid certificate.
  4. All ITMA Instructors will be recognised under the Irish Martial Arts Commission and therefore must follow the IMAC regulations.
  5. All Instructors / Senior Dan Grades must complete the first level coach's course provided by IMAC , date will be advertised on the ITMA website as soon as available. All Junior Dan grades are expected to complete this course when they become seniors
  6. All Instructors are required to show on-going respect and support of the ITMA in order to secure on-going membership with the Association. y expected to involve themselves with Competition and Seminars in order to ensure that they, as an ITMA Instructor are up to date with the ITMA teaching and training syllabus and where possible to be involved in fundraising.
  7. Should Instructors out-right fail to show basic respect to the Association Regulations on an ongoing basis, your membership as an Instructor will be terminated, consequent to the issue of past verbal warning/warnings from the President of the ITMA with no satisfactory development on the matter in question.
The intention of 'ITMA Instructor Regulations' is to instil an assurance to all members that all ITMA registered Instructors and therefore clubs, are of the highest possible quality.
